THANKS FOR JOINING US

Our conference was held at Mandel Hall on the University of Chicago campus on Saturday, April 19, 2014, from 10am to 5pm. The event was centered on the theme: "Make No Little Plans," inspired by Daniel Burnham's famous line:

Make no little plans; they have no magic to stir men's blood and probably themselves will not be realized.

In the spirit of Burnham, the chief architect of the 1893 World's Fair, our conference fused the local and universal, the innovative and the neoclassical. Attendees and speakers were able to interact and all, we hope, were driven to creatively improve our collective future.

IN THE SPIRIT OF "IDEAS WORTH SPREADING," TED HAS CREATED A PROGRAM CALLED TEDx.

TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxUChicago, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxUChicago event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
